Soil Environment Services undertake geotechnical site investigations and soil surveys to meet NHBC soil survey requirements, foundation design or for other site development or planning purposes.
All our geotechnical work is undertaken to high professional standards and complies with BS5930 and BS1377.
We typically undertake geotechnical investigations for small residential developments at depths to 5m.
Our geotechnical capability includes:
• Trial pits and or boreholes for log of soil conditions and sampling. Hand held augers are used for small sites.

• In-situ testing:
- In-situ soil shear strength using the GEOVANE shear vane
- Dynamic probing to determine the N Value using the GEOTOOL ldp
- Bearing capacity using the ELE proving ring penetrometer

• Soil sampling for determination of:
- Particle size distribution
- Clay content analysis and plastic index
- Shear strength
- Dry bilk density
- Sulphates

• Factual report with logs to BS5930
